We are so excited when we listen to that still small voice of God and then afterwards get confirmation that yes we indeed did hear correctly and our obedience blessed others!
Our family prays that we would hear God's leading in all circumstances, not so that we can play God but so that we can be a useful tool in our redeemers hand.
1 Timothy 6:17-18 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they may be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,
We were at a party and one of us looked down and realised a friends sandals were very tired and worn. Brian had just found new sandals and we realised we were in the perfect situation to share our shoes...Our friend was very blessed and one of us went home barefoot that day! Our friend let us know that when they left the tribe they could not find their sandals so had to resort to the pair that was falling apart and hoped the sandals would stay together until they reached a place they could replace them! Our hearts were so full knowing we had been used to encourage a friend that had a need we could help fill!
Another sharing instance this week happened when we felt led to sort through the boys cloths, counting out what we needed in a weeks time and give the rest away! As we gave a friend the boys extra's cloths she said to us...This is so amazing, just this morning my sons came to me and said they needed new shorts for school. I told them we had no money but we would pray and watch God provide for our needs! That was the same day God promted our family to share our boys cloths with them.
We may not be rich in the eyes of America but in the eyes of those in PNG we are very rich! We are thankful to be in a place where we can share our riches and share God's Love as He provides for the needs of so many around us! We pray that we bring God Glory when we are obedient and open to His leading1 Please pray for our family that we would continue to be open to His leading and bless the people He places in our lives!
Our family had such a wonderful evening having a group of friends over from church! They brought classic Philipino dishes and I made classic American dishes! It was fun comparing notes and finding we enjoy the same tastes! Colton has made a great friend in Jonelle and they danced around the house while shooting the nerf guns.
We enjoyed our evening of eating, visiting, and singing on their Karioki machine. If you are reading this and have an unused karioki machine or know someone who has an unused machine, we would love to buy it from you! We really enjoyed watching everyone sing and it really was great fun!!! So we thougt it would be nice to have our own machine.
We are so excited for all our different experiences and thankful God has put such beautiful people in our lives!
Colton and Joshua have had quite the exciting adventure as they have now been in PNG going on five months. Right now they miss snow and hot chocolate! Thankfully their Gram sent them hot chocolate for those cooler rainy days and Nanamom sent them coloring pages to remember fun days in their past.
But with the past behind we sure are enjoying the present, the boys were able to get a tour of the helicopter and hanger with our new friend Steve. He has two boys himself back in New Zealand and knows how to relate to our guys. He's becoming a fast friend to the family and our guys love him!
Our co-workers Mike and Ruth have become as close as family and we enjoy the times Ruth reads with the boys.
Our ministry is very busy as Brian fills many roles and provides services to Missionaries that help save time and money while accelerating the work of reaching the unreached! Right now three new teams are traveling to the interior to start new tribal works. That means eight families need to build houses and need supplies for those projects! We are thankful to be here as we get calls from Missionaries such as ...help our chainsaw is broken or could we get a load of timber next week on the coming flight.
Our days stay full with homeschool and hospitality as we try to have mssionaries over for dinner to listen to their lives and show Christ's love to our new friends! God is so Gracious and provides many ways to serve here! Thank you for praying for our family!
